I am trying to add my wife (H-4 dependent) to my bank account. The bank (a credit union in PA) has asked me to fill in and submit a W-8BEN among other documents. Please shed some light on this. Your help is much appreciated.

As per the new information USCIS is planning to finish receipt update by end of the month. My application was filed on July 19th and received by B Fisher at NSC. All the folks who applied with me got their checks cashed last week.
My I140 was approved from NSC last year.
How many people are in the same boat. I know from other threads there are still people waiting from July 2nd.

Here's my take on the new Visa Bulletin First, bad news for Dominicans. Separate cutoffs have now been established for the Family First and 2B preference categories which are now earlier than the worldwide dates. Family First is 01 JUN 2004 and 2B is 01 JAN 2002. Also, Indian numbers are pretty bad again with most categories stalled. Mexico is the only bright spot with some strong improvements in the employment categories. I have a question for the gurus. I have my GC application in process- priority date March 2006, EB2 I. When the application started my wife was on H4.
Now my wife is on H1B, and her employer has asked if she would like to have her GC processing done. Question is that can she get her application started and can I be the beneficiary on her application. The rationale behind this thought process is that considering the economic conditions, is this a safety net that one can use?

How do we identify EB3 or EB2 category in approved I-140 ?
In Section , it was written as "Sec. 203 (b) (3) (A) (i) or (ii) ".
Not able to figure it out.

Guys,
I need some advice and your own experiences.
Right now i am with company A(EB3-I, PD:12/2001) and 485 is in progress.
I have another approved I140 with Company B in EB2 category(PD:05/2006) and i did not try to recapture my PD at that time.
My question is, if i interfile company B 140 with Company A 140 would i be able to recapture the EB3 priority date. I do not want to loose the old priority date.
Any pointers or own experiences would be helpful.

According to a FAQ on Murthy.com about the Yates memo, it is possible to switch jobs (using AC21) if 140 and 485 have both have been pending 180 days. Murthy doesn't advise this under normal circustances because if an RFE is received on the 140, then it is problematic if you've left the company.

A friend of mine has submitted visa application fee and has made an appointment for visitor visa next week.
Can someone please tell if there is any other requirement of making a draft for some other fees during the Visa interview? (I am confused because a couple of years ago we used to submit one more bank draft during Visa interview)

I am changing my employer with whom I had a H1-B (extended beyond 6 years) and with the new employer I will be starting on EAD (which I have from my wife's GC application). I have couple of questions.
- Once I start using EAD and if I travel out of US and intend to use AP for re-entry, are there any issues travelling to European countries? I have heard there are problems getting transit visas when on AP. Is this true or is it just for particular airlines?
- Once I start using EAD, can the new employer apply for H1-B visa transfer or a new H1-B after I start using EAD or its not possible.
