I got H1 this year. I was applied my ssn on oct 9 th. still i didn't get my ssn number. two days back ssn people called and told that "in online it is showing your EAd card. so we can give u ssn if you bring the EAD card". My question is if i give my EAD, will the h1 get cancelled. please suggest me.
Dont worry, showing EAD to SSA office will not cancel or invalid your H1B. Goto SSA office and tell them you have both H1B as well as EAD.

As far as I know one of my friend did the same thing. His new H1B transfer (premium processing) got approved and his original extension petition is still pending.

Thanks to IV for making the multi year EAD/AP happen. Since USCIS might or might not announce this, I want to track when people start getting these multi year EAD/APs. Anyone in the IV community got one of these yet?

Filed July 1st 2007 and my I-485 was transferred from NSC->CSC->NSC. Have a I-485 receipt # that starts with WAC, but is currently pending at NSC. Any recent WAC# approvals?
Tried opening a SR - the SR# ends with CSC. I don't think it will help as SR was directed to wrong Service Center.
In addition to all USCIS inefficiencies, this transfer between service centers makes my case all the more confusing and even more unlikely to be approved anytime soon. Very frustrating!!

Hi,
My employer filed H1B transfer in Feb 2009. however he could not receive RFE letter with in time on mail and only received after RFE submitted date was expired which is May 25th, 2009
In jun1 1st week , he filed for the RFE extension for the stated reason and also refiled H1B to make sure that I should be in valid H1B status in case of first H1B denial in mean time
Employer submitted all the documents related to RFE on June 20th and it got approved on jul 1st.
What are the best options for H1B refiling case
in case if it is denied, will it super impose the original H1B approval ?
is it good idea to cancel/revoke pending H1B refiling case ?

Ok for a long time I have been thinking about getting enrolled in a Phd program and this year I was hoping I get a chance to chase my dream after having the GC... well it did not work the way I thought/planed and now I want to weigh my options.

I 140 approved early 2006
Approved EAD (till Oct 2010)

So my questions is:
Is there a way I can join a univ as full time research student?
Can I take a leave of absense (ofcourse w/o pay) from my current job to join as a student?
If anyone knows anything about this kind of situation I would really appreciate your help.

Hi,
When I entered USA on L2 dependent spouse visa,my passport was expiring on 15 Sept 2008 and hence my I-94 got departure date as 15 sept 2008. After that i applied for an L2-EAD with the old passport and I-94 (both having expiry date as 15-sept-08)and hence i got the L2-EAD which also expires on 14-sept 2008.
Now I have renwed my passport which is valid upto 2018 and want my EAD to be renewed.
Can someone tell me L2 EAD expiry date depends on I-94 records or does it depend on my spouses L1 or on my new passport expiry date...or may be out of all these which ever expires first....??

You can file for your wife and kids while you have a GC.
For brother/sister/parents, you need US citizenship to file it.
If you are a Indian citizen, Bro/sister catagory need a minimum 10 year wait period after filing.

yeah you can go to canada, or mexico. even india, i went to india.
