As suggested by pappu/starsun, this supporting thread provides impacted members with additional information and tools to help the initiative.

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

For me it took 1.5 months. I visited the consulate to check the status. Typically you can check the status of your passport renewal from CGI mail room. They can tell you whether your passport is processed, mailed etc.
Unfortunately CGI Houston has very poor customer service. They won't answer your calls or reply to your emails.

Can students with post completion EAD work for more than one employer at the same time in their own speciality area? I mean to ask, can they work full time with one and part time with other?

Can you use your spouse's cross-changeability after you have filed for your I-140 already ? How time consuming is this for the USCIS to acknowledge ?
i am quite sure you can...infact you can do this at any stage including after filing I-485.

Hi All,
Now I have some questions regarding the process after getting Visa. I have read threads about airlines and medical insurance on this forum.
I was wondering if someone can shed light on finally what is a good medical insurance to buy, my father is 65 and mom is 60 and both have health issues.
Please let me know which insurance to buy which will cover their international travel plus stay in US
Also, please let me know which airlines are good for parents. I am east coast. My parents will definitely need assistance and I am also looking for someway I can have some travel companion for them. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks a ton.

If your petition has been physically "Mailed" to the Atlanta Service center . Do they give you a tracking number . Can such cases be viewed online on the website http://www.plc.doleta.gov ? How much time does the Atlanta service center take to acknowledge the reciept of such application ?

Hi,
I am currently a dependent E-1 on my wife's visa and currently have a valid EAD which will expire mid-2010.
We are about to file I-140 and I-485 and my question is, should I also file for a new EAD at the same time even if its still 8 months from expiry? I'm not sure what the difference is between an EAD under the E-1 visa, or an EAD when filing the I-485, or if it doesn't matter at all.

The storyline continues. Last year, 13,500 regular H-1B applications were counted in the first week and 5,600 advanced degree applications. This year 5,900 regular applications were received in the first week and 4,500 advanced degree petitions.
