The problem I see with Los Angeles is the high population of illegals. Any thing here looks like pro-illegal.
Doing the rally in other cities in Los Angeles County or Orange County is the media visibility that we can get.
Any suggestions from SoCAL members?

Here is the scoop.
from US Congresswoman's office, an immigration specialist spoke to their liaison at the Nebraska Service Center.
Liaison confirmed the following:
1. I-140 approval in September, 2007 (actually 09/04/2007 as I have the hard copy)
2. I-140 revocation in Feb, 2009 ( he has not provided the day of the month, but from LUD I have it strongly pointing to 02/03/2009)
I have not told the Congresswoman's office about the I-140 revocation. Just mentioned that it might have happened as I have left the company.
3. Liaison did confirm that even after the I-140 being withdrawn I am eligible for adjustment thru AC21.
4. Liaison did agree that if the I-140 was revoked within the stipulated time given in AC21, Nebraska’s decision to deny the I-485 may have been in error. (which in my case is true)

Unanswered questions:
1. If the Liaison can see that my I-140 is approved on 09/04/2007, why is that the adjudicating officer is responding with a denial on 09/04/2007 and subsequent denial of I-485?

Conclusion:
Atleast in my case it looks deliberate and intentional.

is there any way, any way in this whole freakin process, that we can get some sort of explanation for eb3-I first hand from DOS or USCIS? i mean there needs to be some justification for the acts? i know there are laws to interpret these dates, but how do we know that those laws are interpreted correctly by DOS or USCIS? though i am in eb3-I , jan 2003, i personally know atleast 3 folks who are in 2002 - eb3-I. Can we get some sort of guidance here.

I don't know if anybody has noticed it but the dates for EB-2 for VB October 2007 was April 1, 2004 and for VB October 2008 is April 1, 2003. That is a retrogression of 1 year - not good. :mad:
And then you must have also noticed that in Dec 07, it moved to Jan 1, 02.
Jan 00 in Jan 08, U in Feb-March and then April 03 in April 07.
With due respect, I don't think what you have observed really points to anything, either way.
Eventually, EB2-I will move forward, probably next April or so. And yes, this is all good old speculation, it doesn't mean anything really.

If the girl is working and earning money, she has all the rights to spend the way she wants, including giving money to her parents. If she is not working, then help should be based only on humanitarian basis because we never know when one's financial situation changes. I can't understand how any girl can force her husband to spend for her parents and siblings especially when she is not earning.
I fully support need based humantarian help. Irrespective of daughter earning or not, most
parents (in middle class) in india WILL not accept beyond a token. Gifts/help to siblings is some what natural. There is a limit to everything and people should understand this and draw a line.

Considering all these 750,000 I-485 filings in next 1 month sounds a reasonable estimate.

In 2002 all the EB visas were issued (174,968). However, there were 31,532 unused family preference visas, so the limit for 2003 was 171,532 (140,000 + 31,532).
Guess what, in 2003 they only approved 82,137 EB visas, so they ended up with 88,482 unused EB visas
From where did you get 174,968?

Is the min contribution required, $25 per month or $25 for 12 months?

I have a suggestion! I don't think forcing monthly $25 contribution to keep donor status alive is a very good idea, especially in current economy. Take an example of myself. It is decided that I am going to loose job on 17th March, may not be able to contribute every month.

Members, who were complaining about the slow processing of I-140's at TSC & NSC, now is the time to stand up and get counted. Please take the time to review the letter and then mail the DHS Form 7001 along with the letter to USCIS Ombudsman's office.

Is there a way to seperate the HI-B increase from the EB- green card recapture? So long as they are lumped together, it will always be difficult to pass. Also, is it possible to make this apply to all EB categories, not just Schedule A and EB-1 and 2?

I would say to follow your attorney's advice though I don't think of any issues with going for premium processing as you are with the same employer. My friend has recently filed I-140 under regular processing and got approval within 2 1/2 months. Just make sure if your attorney submitted porting request while filing new I-140 under EB2. All the best.

I emailed them not as me but as my employer( point of contact mentioned in the labor petition) and it works they send me a copy of the labor approval to my house along with a copy to my employer and one to my attroney. It really works.
Is this a PERM application or the labor application at one of the BEC's? Please let us know.

I applied AP in Jan 4th 2008. Last week on 13th there was a LUD on AP. Today the status changed to "Document Mailed to applicant". Based on your experiences does this means RFE or Approval. BTW i belong to Nebraska Service Center.

I believe that means the AP is on it's way. And you had a superfast turnaround time! I applied for AP on November 6'th, and my status changed to "Document Mailed to applicant" on March 17'th. Nebraska certainly seems to have a sort of LIFO policy rather than FIFO.
I still haven't received my documents either. I will wait a few more days before bugging my lawyer.
